Its primary radiation source is a UV lamp system that can be configured with a choice of UV-A (wavelength range 315-400mm) or UV-B (280-315mm) lamps to mimic different solar spectrums according to various testing standards. In addition to UV radiation, the device can also simulate a dew cycle (condensation) by generating vapor from heated water at the base of the chamber, as well as a rain cycle through an integrated spray nozzle system, providing comprehensive weathering test capabilities.

A critical parameter, the Blackboard Temperature, can be specifically controlled within the range of 50°C to 70°C. The test duration is programmable and flexibly adjustable up to 999 hours.
