Carbon Black Dispersion Analyzer with Image Analysis Software
DESCRIPTION / TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
In the science of rubber and plastic materials, the addition of carbon black is key to achieving desired mechanical strength, durability, and performance. However, the full potential of carbon black is only realized when it is perfectly and evenly dispersed throughout the polymer matrix. Undispersed clumps, or agglomerates, act as weak points, drastically compromising the quality of the final product. We present an advanced analysis system that moves beyond traditional visual inspection. This instrument is designed to quantitatively and objectively determine the degree of carbon black dispersion, giving you the data you need to perfect your mixing process.
This system works by combining precision optics with powerful image analysis software. A compound specimen is placed on the measuring platform and illuminated by 30-degree angled light to enhance contrast. The image is then captured by a 100x magnification CCD camera lens, capable of detecting micro-agglomerates that are impossible to accurately evaluate with the naked eye. This image data is then directly processed by the computer using bi-level analysis and pixel diameter analysis methods. The result is not a subjective opinion, but clear numerical data on the distribution and count of agglomerates, allowing for consistent batch-to-batch quality comparisons.
Engineered as a complete laboratory solution, the system includes the precision image detector unit connected to a computer pre-installed with specialized image converter and analysis software. It is a turnkey solution that allows you to immediately implement a more sophisticated quality control protocol. By providing quantitative data on the effectiveness of your mixing process, this tool enables process engineers to optimize parameters such as time, temperature, and rotor speed to achieve the best possible dispersion with maximum efficiency.
